This is a fully functional Task Manager web application built using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js).
Features:
- Add, complete, and delete tasks
- Priority levels (High, Medium, Low)
- Due dates with overdue detection
- Filter tasks by status (All, Active, Done, High Priority)
- Progress bar showing completion percentage
- Dark mode toggle
- Data stored in MongoDB Atlas (persistent storage)

- Database: MongoDB Atlas
- Deployment: Vercel (frontend) + Render (backend)

Known Issues
Installation
1. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/CharishmaNelakurthi/task-manager
2. Install backend dependencies: cd backend && npm install
3. Add .env file with MONGO_URI=your_mongodb_connection_string
4. Run backend: node server.js
5. Install frontend dependencies: cd ../frontend && npm install
6. Run frontend: npm start
Usage
1. Open the live demo at https://task-manager-lemon-six.vercel.app
2. Type a task in the input field and click Add
3. Set priority (High/Medium/Low) and due date
4. Use filters to view All, Active, Done, or High priority tasks
5. Check the checkbox to mark a task as completed
6. Click the trash icon to delete a task
7. Toggle dark mode using the moon icon
System Requirements
Node.js v16+, npm, MongoDB Atlas account (for local setup). No installation needed to use the live demo.
